Plan 6–8 weeks ahead — Yellow Fever needs 10 days for the certificate to validate.
Across most African destinations we plan around Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A and Typhoid as the baseline. Sub-Saharan trips often add Rabies, Cholera and MenACWY for the meningitis belt. Several countries require a Yellow Fever certificate at entry.
Safari, Mombasa coast, Maasai Mara. YF certificate required if arriving from a risk country.
Serengeti, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar. Long-stay or rural itineraries need Rabies cover.
Cape Town, Kruger, Garden Route. No YF requirement unless transiting a risk country.

Hajj / Umrah travellers: 2–6 weeks before departure to allow MenACWY antibody response.
Modest baseline for most Gulf travel. The standout is MenACWY which is required for Hajj and Umrah to Saudi Arabia, and routinely advised for pilgrimage travel. Polio booster may also be needed for Saudi Arabia from certain origin countries.
Mecca, Medina pilgrimage. MenACWY certificate required at entry for Hajj and Umrah.
Dubai, Abu Dhabi. Standard travel cover — Hep A for food/water, Hep B for medical risk.
